CONGREGATIONAL MINISTRIES

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS
We believe that Bible study is necessary for spiritual growth. Since God has revealed Himself to us in His word, we must continually study the Bible o learn more about His plan for our lives. As we study the history of our Lord and his people Israel, we see His love and mercy to His people throughout all the time. There are several Bible study group in the Uniting Reformed Church Orange Farm.

Every Sunday between 9:00-10:00 there is a Sunday school. The children are taught lessons derived from the bible. We have about 163 children in the Sunday school and seven Sunday school teachers.
We have a very strong choir of young people who loves the Lord. They use their talents to sing in the church. Choir practices from Monday to Thursday between 18:00-19:30. Though it is risky for them to walk at night in the informal settlement due to the high rate of crime, these young people are dedicated. We hope that one day God will bless us and that we will be able to buy a Minibus that will transport them to their respective homes.
Youth Movement
Catechism
dutch-reformed-church-in-orange-farm-youth-ministry
dutch-reformed-church-in-orange-farm-chatechism
These are young people who come together in the church hall for youth activities like singing, bible discussion, doing outreaches to the other youth outside the church who are involved in drugs, drunkenness, stealing etc. There is a need to build extra classrooms because we experience a very serious problem on Sunday since we have different activities that are taking place on Sundays.
The Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa of Orange Farm Central congregation has Catechism classes which provide young and new Christians with additional instruction in the Reformed Doctrine. Classes are held each Sunday at the Church building for children aged 14 to 16 years.
